Job description
Lead design, implementation, and operation of blockchain systems that power player-owned economies, partner integrations, and marketplace flows. You will work across smart contracts, backend services, and security reviews to ship reliable on-chain features at production quality.
What you will do
Scope you will own day to day
- Architect and implement smart contracts, upgrades, and integration patterns with clear threat modeling and gas awareness.
- Build and maintain indexing, event pipelines, and APIs that expose chain state to game services and internal tools.
- Partner with security on audits, formal reviews, and incident response for contract and wallet flows.
- Collaborate with product and gameplay teams to translate requirements into safe, testable on-chain and off-chain designs.
- Document standards for wallets, signing, deployments, and operational runbooks for engineering and support.
What we look for
Must-haves for this level
- 5+ years professional software engineering with substantial production blockchain experience.
- Deep Solidity (or equivalent EVM toolchain) plus experience with upgrade patterns, proxies, and common vulnerability classes.
- Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, fork tests, and CI for contract and service changes.
- Comfort operating in distributed systems: queues, idempotency, retries, and observability for chain-adjacent services.
- Excellent communication and ability to explain tradeoffs to non-blockchain engineers and stakeholders.
Nice to have
Helpful differentiators, not hard requirements
- Experience with game economies, NFT marketplaces, or player item trading at scale.
- Rust or Go for high-throughput services; knowledge of ZK rollups or L2 operations.
- Prior work with external auditors and bug bounty programs.
Ship complete product experiences from polished UI through resilient services. You will own features end-to-end in a fast-moving environment spanning web clients, APIs, and cloud infrastructure that supports games and live services.
What you will do
Scope you will own day to day
- Design, implement, and test user-facing flows with attention to accessibility, performance, and design fidelity.
- Build and evolve REST or GraphQL APIs, data models, and background jobs with clear contracts and versioning.
- Improve reliability and speed: profiling, caching, bundle size, database queries, and operational metrics.
- Collaborate with designers on component systems, with gameplay teams on player-facing tools, and with platform on shared services.
- Participate in code review, technical design notes, and production support for the features you own.
What we look for
Must-haves for this level
- 5+ years shipping production web applications with modern TypeScript/JavaScript stacks.
- Strong frontend skills (Angular, React, or similar) plus solid backend experience in Node or comparable ecosystems.
- Experience with automated testing (unit, component, e2e) and CI pipelines.
- Practical knowledge of SQL or document stores, migrations, and safe schema evolution.
- Clear written communication and comfort working with partially defined requirements.
Nice to have
Helpful differentiators, not hard requirements
- Experience with real-time features, websockets, or collaborative UIs.
- Game industry or consumer subscription / marketplace products.
- Kubernetes, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code exposure.
Drive cross-functional programs from discovery through launch and live operations. You will align engineering, product, and stakeholders on scope, schedule, and risk while keeping delivery predictable and transparent.
What you will do
Scope you will own day to day
- Own roadmaps, milestone plans, and dependency maps; surface risks early with mitigation options.
- Facilitate planning, standups, and reviews; ensure decisions and action items are captured and followed through.
- Track burn-down, capacity, and scope changes; communicate status clearly to leadership and partner teams.
- Coordinate releases with QA, marketing, and support; manage checklists for launch readiness and rollback.
- Improve process where it reduces friction: templates, dashboards, and lightweight rituals that fit the team.
What we look for
Must-haves for this level
- 4+ years technical program or project management in software or game-adjacent products.
- Demonstrated delivery of multi-team initiatives with engineers, designers, and product owners.
- Strong grasp of agile practices without dogma; ability to adapt process to team maturity and deadlines.
- Excellent organization, stakeholder management, and written updates for executives and ICs.
- Comfort reading technical specs and asking the right questions; Jira/Linear/Confluence fluency.
Nice to have
Helpful differentiators, not hard requirements
- PMP, CSM, or similar credentials; experience with vendor and contract coordination.
- Background in games as a service, live ops, or platform teams.
- Data-informed planning using analytics or experimentation readouts.
